Checking Out Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in Vegas - XtraMoney Review

I was excited to move to Las Vegas because I love all the little attractions this town offers.

I don’t know why, but one of the places my girlfriend and I really wanted to check out was Madame Tussauds in the Venetian Casino.

I have to admit the only time I ever see wax museums is when a late night host like Conan goes there to film a funny sketch (which I always find hilarious).

My girlfriend is into fashion because she does pageants and is a hair stylist so she is always watching E-News and keeping up on celebrity trends. So she was excited to go as well.

Madame Tussauds is in the Venetian Hotel and Casino, but It’s on the outside of the building.

If you haven’t been inside the Venetian, the place is huge and is connected to the Palazzo Casino.

It’s hard to know which casino you are in because they both look very similar inside, but they are both really nice.

Ticket Prices

Tickets for the museum will run you about $35 if you buy them online first.

But if you buy them there, they are around $50 because it’s Vegas and everything is more.

If you are a local, you can get in for about $18, but you need a Nevada Driver’s license.

How Much Time To Budget

I’m not sure why, but I assumed that we would be able to kill a few hours in the museum. That isn’t the case.

I noticed when I Googled the place it said, “most people spend about 20 minutes.” I’d say that isn’t very accurate either.

I think we spent close to an hour inside, but we also took a lot of pictures. The place was pretty busy because it was a Friday.

Was It Realistic?

As far as the mannequins go, some look better than others as you would have guessed.

Some freaked me out because they really did look real and others didn’t look that realistic at all.

There was about four different rooms which have different sets of mannequin. Every room had a theme.

Room Themes

The first room you walk into was an actors theme.

You walk in and see Tim McGraw and Sophie Vergara right through the hallway. When you look at the room it felt like it was really crowded with tourists.

But then after a closer look, it wasn’t all tourists filling the room, most of the “people” were wax celebrities!

They had an Oceans 11 theme and had George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Julie Roberts which was cool and fitting since you are in Vegas after all.

Then you got your other big-name actors like Leo and Justin Timberlake.

Continuing With Themes

The next room was a sports room and you could see Shaq and Tiger. They really had cool displays and you could take all sorts of cool pictures.

The next room, a TV theme room, was talk shows and TV sitcoms.

This is where you could get a picture of Wayne Brady, Larry King, and Jerry Springer.

What I liked about those is they all had small sets of their shows.

Vegas Theme Room

Then they had a Vegas room which covered the old school performers like the Rat Pack and the legends of today like Celine Dion and Brittney Spears.

I personally liked this room because it has a sense of history of this awesome town.

I wasn’t a fan of the movie The Hangover but I suppose since the whole movie is based in Las Vegas it only made sense for them to have a small section dedicated to it.

I am a fan of Mike Tyson so I think that is the only picture I took in that room.

Nevertheless, I did like the tiger in the bathroom and it growls every ten seconds, scaring you every time.

Super Heros

The last section of the tour is the Marvel section, and you can see Captain America and Nick Folly.

They end the tour with a small 4d Movie based on the Avengers, but I opted to skip this section because I wasn’t really feeling the large crowd that was in line.

To be fair, I can’t really watch 3d movies because they usually give me a big headache so I wasn’t interested in 4D.

Conclusion

Overall, I was really happy I was able to take this off my list of things to see.

I would say “make sure you bring your camera,” but that’s kind of dumb since everyone has one on their phone.

But you get a ton of cool pictures which makes this visit worth it.

I hope you enjoyed my review and you should check this place out if you are in town!

Let me know what you thought of my review.
