“Be Holy as I Am Holy!”
To be holy, means we are set-apart from the world, and we are set-apart to our Creator in accordance with His Word. He repeatedly calls us to be set-apart to Him in Scripture. However, this exact phrase is directly stated by our Heavenly Father two times from which Peter quotes.
One is when He is defining food for those who are His.
The second is when He reminds us to honor our father and mother, guard His Sabbaths, and flee idolatry.
Seeing as these things are important enough to be attached to the reminder of His holiness for us, perhaps we shouldn’t ignore them any longer, and should stop believing man’s doctrines over the Word of the One who made us. Perhaps we should heed Peter’s prodding reminder to walk in obedience to our Creator. He desires for us to have Life. Choose Life!
