My attention is usually piqued by details overlooked by others.
I am facinated by the layer on layer of posters on the streets of Berlin and in this case the tape sections left behind on the Heras fencing which makes up part of my route to the studio.
The tape captures part of the image. The paper posters don’t stand up to the rain, and there have been days and days of rain in Berlin.
I have focused on a collection of body parts (as way of a change from buildings and gloom of past few posts!). They are seductive in their sections.
I wondered about other comparisons to these fragments of bodies and as seems to be my default, I looked back to my archive of photographs. These seem to be a good companion.
From hours spent in Classical Archaeology Museum in Cambridge UK.
I am interested in the lines and breaks in images and objects. Again, referencing ongoing reasearch which invloves looking at stained glass.
The lead fusing the sections together.
When stained glass windows have been bombed out, broken or weathered with age they can often be found re arranged and appropriated into a new image.
