Tulku Khentrul Lodro Rabsel, 12, is pictured with his tutor Lhagyel at the Shechen Monastery in Bodnath, Nepal.
Kehntrul entered the monastery at the age of 5, and like other young monks was restricted from seeing other monks of his age.
