She’s completed two years in an eminent institute. She’s hard working and a fun person, someone who isn’t bound by the shackles of the mainstream society. She has an adorable mother, who trusts her and has been pivotal in her growth as a person. Her cousin is her best friend, her 3 A.M.-goto-guy. She’s an amazing photographer and a procrastinator in the truest meaning of the word. She quantifies her work into productive and waste and gives time appropriately. I met her after such a long time, and she greets me with the same enthusiasm and joy she always does. Not many people like her because she’s not one of those conventional shy-in-nature people, not one of those who backs down. She doesn’t have many friends, and life for her is always tipsy-topsy. Pity, for I see a beautiful soul. Not many see her as I do.
He loves travelling. Seeing new places quenches the thirst of his life. Life is tough on him, for he cannot always afford his escapades. Successive attempts into the National Defense Academy met with failure, but nonetheless, he is patriotic as ever. To him, friends are always family. He never gives up on anyone, no matter how mean and arrogant one gets. He’s sincere in his work. People lay back on the ground late night, appreciating nature, and counting stars in the sky. Not him. The terrace is his paradise, as he always finds the lap of one of his brother’s in college (as he fondly calls his friends), and while sharing the rants of his heart, counts the number of planes he sees in the sky. Not many see him as I do.
She’s an adventurer at heart, open to trying new and vibrant things all the time. She’s a perfect blend of introvert and extrovert. Deep inside her, there’s a voice. A voice so quiet that it is almost ignored by everyone. She’s bound, bound by this conventionalism of the orthodoxies around her, and yet, unwaveringly, she fights. Fights for her peace. One of the few solace in her life is spending time with her cousin, but he’s so far apart that they hardly meet in years. She understands life thoroughly and has a knack for expressing it so beautifully with words. She’s a flamboyant soul. Not many see her as I do.
He’s working now and is one amazing person. A couple of years down the lane, he isn’t satisfied, for he feels his calibre is still underrated. A counsel to people younger to him, every once in a while, he needs counselling too. He’s always productive and keeps everyone happy. He’s very different and surely stands out in the crowd. Being the gem of a person he is, he finds himself amongst backstabbing and misleading individuals. Complexities sometimes keep him from his hobbies, and that icks him. A good old book and brewing cup of coffee is his idea of peace. Not many see him as I do.
Not everything in a person’s life makes sense. Not everything has to. Sometimes, all you have to do is sit back and observe people. Those remarkable beings with their perfections and flaws going hand in hand, living through this time.
These are just four of the innumerable stories that I have observed and cherished. Penning them all down is a Herculean task, but with these four unique tales, I just marvel at the uniqueness of each one of us. Every single one of us is a story, working to make a mark in this world.
People are so interesting, with their never-ending stories. Their stories, however infinitesimally small specks of dust in this universe, are pieces of an elegant yet complex jigsaw puzzle called existence.
I am glad I get to read some of them so intricately.

ALL humans struggle. Why is it that some struggle more than others? Books like "Why bad things happen to good people" try and answer questions like these. The truth is that there may not be a simple answer. Perhaps we are meant to suffer in order to grow.
