Dtube/Steemit Tagging Tips: Get Momentum on Your Dtube/Steemit Post !

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Tagging is important to climbing the Dtube/Steemit ranks.

I keep my eye on new Steemit user post, I've also recruited a few people to Steemit. A very common mistake I see by new users from other platforms is tagging. Steemit is very young and the tagging system is limited compared to other social media platforms, you might want to consider this when posting.

Common tags will help you get new eyes on your post, new followers, increased upvotes and a overall better Dtube/Steemit experience. If you find the need to use a custom tag, I'd limit yourself to only using one custom tag.

Finding common tags is very easy in Steemit. You can find a list of most common searched tags on the Steemit main page !

Use that list and apply the best five common tags to your video. Dtube users choose four tags, Dtube makes the final tag. Choosing from these common tags allow your post to get maximum exposure and momentum on Dtube and Steemit as a new user.

I hope this helps some new users and maybe even older users having a hard time getting traction on the blockchain.

Thanks a ton for any support past, present or future, it means the world to my art, music and creative content.

Thanks, I appropriate the tip will up vote and try to do my best good luck tagging out there!

Glad you enjoyed the video my friend. Hope it helps you on the journey through the blockchain ,

That is the best and most simplified version of tagging I ever seen and makes a lot of sense to me.
Do you think that following this system is helping you with your followership and getting upvotes.
Right now the few video's I have posted on tube have not had much attraction am I doing something wrong maybe???

Tagging is definitely one thing that helps my momentum but not everything. Good topics, good tags, g ood write up even if its video all help you climb the charts. Are you writting a good amount of text with the video ?

No i'm not really maybe thats what it is, when I used to to you tube videos I wrote short descriptions about them, however I am doing another video today I will do more of a write up for that one.
Thank you for the suggestion.

I’ve noticed videos with solid write ups do better, this is something people coming from other platforms miss a lot. Detailed text, a few pics or links will go a long way.

Also, dtube sometimes takes 30 min for the video to work after the upload. So for the first 20/30 minutes sometimes your video wont play , if dtube is budy and flooded.

Having that text allows people to read what the video would be saying and you get many upvotes that way too. Without text they would just see a frozen video with limited text and move on.

the tips are really helpful man. you should really look into getting some cork board and mounting just a bit of acoustic treatment on it. it will improve the sound here so much. you are picking up a lot of room reflections. mount it to cork board and you can set it up behind the camera and in a couple spots with nothing perm on your walls.

Very good points Todd!
