We don't usually celebrate these things.
Halloween for us is a celebration acquired not long ago.
When I was young, the main celebration was what was called "All Saints Day", on the first of November, so tomorrow. The main subject was the visit to the cemeteries where people join their deceased relatives on this day.
Apart from that, the usual thing was to eat roasted chestnuts and sweet potatoes accompanied with typical sweets of the time, a mixture of almonds, potatoes, pine nuts and much, much sugar and, oh yes, I forget that the typical drink used to be the a kind of sweet wine called "Moscatel".
We keep these traditions, however we have acquired new ones such as dressing up or making pumpkins with grotesque faces that are really "winning" the popular battle since "marketing" on TV, internet and the like just focus on the "american style habits".
Anyway, kids enjoy these days.
We just finished our work, a couple of pumpkins that look pretty good with the help of a candle inside...
At least it has been good entertainment while we are locked at home under the current pandemic circumstances.
Have a good Halloween!
I've made such pumpkins as well when I was a kid and I know about the holiday you were celebrating when you were a kid. Currently I don't celebrate anything any longer. Being a kid though you see things from a way different perspective.
Something for the kids today, and the adults tomorrow. Sounds nice.
Happy Halloween!
No he tenido nunca problema con Halloween... hasta ahora. Yankyworld apesta.
Por cierto,no creo te vaya sorprender... pero no es de ellos. Es una tradicion creo que celta
