Let's imagine a hypothetical case in which the sun disappeared from one second to another for 24 hours. If you think that it would only be 24 hours without light and that it would only be a little cold, believe me you are very wrong.
Let's start with the first second, in the second when the sun disappeared, literally no one would notice and not in the first minute, in fact, it would take us between 8 and 9 minutes to realize that the sun has disappeared, this happens because the sunlight takes 8 minutes to reach the earth, then, even if the sun disappeared, we would still receive light during those 8 or 9 minutes, after those 8 or 9 minutes we would suddenly see nothing, total darkness, it would take a few seconds so that the street lights react and fire, and considering that where you are standing is daytime, probably no building or car has its lights on, so for a few seconds you would witness the most total darkness that you had ever lived outside of your home, it would be darker than the darkest night you've lived because there would be no moon either, I do not mean that in this hypothetical case there is no moon, I mean that the moon would not reflect or No light, so it would not be visible and therefore we would not have lunar light.
Having no sunlight we would begin to see the stars very clearly, more than ever before and considering the electromagnetic change of the planet, we would begin to see some changes in the sky, such as those seen in northern lights in the Nordic countries such as: Iceland or Norway. Although the most drastic thing we would feel is that all the plants in the world would stop producing oxygen since they could not do photosynthesis and this would affect every living being on the planet including plants, and the most affected plants would be the poor sunflowers that would not have where look during the day.
After the first hour there would be real panic in every country in the world, no news channel would know how to deal with that news and no government would know what all this is about. The first thing that would happen is that they think they are under some kind of attack like: United States, Russia or North Korea and they may want to attack or start some kind of conflict, but what would create more ambiguity is that many satellites would stop working correctly , not only because the solar panels they have would not get any energy, but because all the messaging services in the world would be super saturated. Imagine if this happens at least you want to call someone or you want to do something about it, in the first hours everyone would be crazy sending messages and the temperature would start to drop drastically.
In the first 24 hours the city would be all chaotic and the authorities would have zero control over the situation. Imagine if people start to get all kinds of theories from the end of the world, just because a date is going to have numbers that coincide or do something funny like: "12/12/12". Imagine what people would start to get out if the sun disappeared, in addition to that after 24 hours the temperature would have already dropped more than 20 degrees worldwide. Keep in mind that when it is night in your city there is sun heating another part of the world, but without there being sun all over the planet then it would drop drastically, and this would cause many plants to start dying in just one day, the species Marinas on the other hand would not feel any change at that point.
Now, since we saw what would happen in the hypothetical case of what would happen if the sun disappeared for 24 hours, I would like to take it a little further. So what would happen in the first week? Now, after a week in the dark planet Earth has an average temperature of -17 degrees Celsius all over the world, in places where the tectonic plates still move there is some heat, such as near volcanoes, for example, to this time almost all the plants already died due to the low temperature or the lack of energy to live. Herbivores and animals that need heat like reptiles that are cold blooded and need the sun's heat would either be dying or starting to hibernate without knowing that once they start to hibernate they will never wake up again (that sad).
In the ocean the plant begins to die en masse, some oceans are already beginning to freeze and the surface is mostly ice.
The humans already started to move and began to look for a solution, but during the first month the land without the sun, the planet would already be mostly dead since the temperature would be on average -30 degrees Celsius, this makes almost all the species of the planet are already extinct. Some trees, especially conifers, would still be alive, but without sunlight they are no longer producing oxygen. The funny thing is that humans are going to die in the absence of food or cold that lack of oxygen. By this time few living beings are still standing on the planet, almost all animals that live in hot areas would be extinct, but most bacteria would continue their normal life as they do today. Today it would be like an ice age and 99% of life would be close to volcanoes or under water as the movements of the tectonic plates continue to heat the water in some oceans, although the surface of the water is ice, keep in mind that the core of the earth is still hot because of all the melted material there, there are many species that are still alive thanks to that. It would continue like this for a few months, but after the first year it would get more dramatic since all the land would have a layer of ice and the average temperature would be -40 degrees Celsius. Now there is only life very deep in the sea where already the water was cold before the sun disappeared and maybe it is believed that some humans could stay alive (we are talking about some, maybe people who already lived in very cold places like Iceland or something like that) and somehow managed to get enough supplies.
The good thing about everything being so cold is that everything that has died is very well preserved, so dead animals and even people can be used to eat them and get energy, although I do not think there are many interesting things to do for this time. Think about how curious this is, if the sun had disappeared a year ago in 2017 today we would almost all be dead and every year the temperature would continue to drop during the next 200 years, it is estimated that the lowest temperature that could have the planet is -160 degrees Celsius and by then life on the planet would be impossible, there would only be microscopic life and life would have to be formed in another way and good, and the only things that need to be considered is good ... It calls the solar system only because, yes, everything we see is supported thanks to the gravitational field of the sun, all the planets, asteroids and good, everything that is within its gravitational field. Without the sun all the planets would follow their course and the earth would end up crashing with something before these 200 years surely. The planet earth could not leave the solar system without first being bombarded with asteroids and other giant stones. It is very likely that the earth will eventually be absorbed by some black hole or collide with another planet and be destroyed. Although it could also be (but it is very unlikely) that the earth finds and integrates to a new solar system and finds a new sun, although good, all this is only a hypothetical case, but do you want to know what is really going to spend the sun in the following billions of years? Well in the next two billion years it's going to turn into a red giant swallowing Mercury and Venus, and Mars and Planet Earth are going to heat up to several hundred degrees Celsius. In five billion years the sun will explode and collapse, making the solar system no longer a solar system and would be the end of this planet as well, although we hope that by then we have populated other planets and we are already far away from here. And well this would be what would happen, I hope you liked it, until the next installment.
Do you think something different would happen? I would like to know your opinion.
