Quote of the Day: Sometimes being a friend means...

in #life7 years ago

“Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go and allow people to hurl themselves into their own destiny. And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when .png

Sometimes it's all about timing. A good friend knows when to listen, when to comment, and when to just hug you and let you cry. A really good friend will tell you the brutal truth... but they'll also do it at the right time and deliver it with care.

Do you agree or disagree? I'd love to hear what you think! Leave a reply below. ❤

I agree. These types of friends can be few and far between though. It takes a person that is mindful and compassionate to think of the other person over themselves in that moment of deciding, "if they should say something, not say something, and if its the right time, etc.)

Often times, the case is : "Most people do not listen with the intent to understand, they listen to the intent to reply."

Great topic. Following you :)

So true! So many of us are not really listening without even realizing it. I'll admit that I have to remind myself to stay present and listen while my friends are talking to me sometimes too. I've caught myself thinking about how I want to respond to what they've already said or even thinking about an anecdote or a quote that I think may be helpful... all the while missing what they are saying in those very moments that my thoughts have run off with my ears. LOL! Listening is a skill and one that I think is worth developing. Thanks for your reply and follow! ❤

I think we're probably all guilty for it at times....lol.. But as long as we work towards being better listeners, it will be become more habitual overtime. :)
