My Elbow Problem (My First Steemit Post)

in #life7 years ago

I am finally biting the bullet and venturing out in to the social media world to extract whatever bits of adventure, cash, fun, cash, knowledge, cash, greatness I can get my hands on. But it's more than just cash really. I do have something to offer and here it starts.

I do not care for grammar and spelling cops, so don't bother correcting any of my posts. I'm not a fan of third grade English teachers who crush a student for their spelling and forget the content. Just really pisses me off.

So Monday I am doing my daily routine at work when about noon I start to feel a strange tingle in my left elbow. No big deal I just kind of ignore it. As the day progresses I notice that it is starting to grow. Not only grow but really getting painful. I realize that something is seriously wrong. I don't recall hitting it on anything or getting bitten by a bug or stung, so I'm not sure what is going on, but it is definitely red, sore and growing larger by the minute. I decide to call my wife and we decided that it would be best if I get it looked at right away as we are flying out Sunday for Florida and the coast for a week of visiting relatives and the beach.

As I am driving home (which is an hour trip) I start to realize that this is a more serious thing than a bug bite. I go to the neighborhood quick doc place and they take a look at it. Here's how that went. The nurse or whatever they are called now takes me in the back room and first weighs me. I'm really not that over-weight. Then she takes me in a room and starts the interrogation. How bad does it hurt? Do you feel safe at home? HUH? I guess. Should I be concerned? Nope, just the normal line of questions they ask these days. So she takes my temp. 97.6. Takes my blood pressure 116/76. Asks me how is the pain from 1-10. I say 7. It hurts. She announces the doc will see me soon and departs.

In comes the doc. She seems knowledgeable. Asks me more questions, which is good, and then decides that it is likely gout or bursitis. Prescribes some antibiotics and tells me to take some ibuprofen for the pain and swelling. She leaves and the nurse comes back to take some blood. She gets her tools for the job ready and asks me if I have a problem with needles. I say no, do you? She explained she is quite good at drawing blood. And she was!

Fast forward. We leave Sunday for our vacation and I am hoping this thing gets better. After three doses of antibiotics I am a bit nervous as it seems to be getting worse. I am not happy about this. I am going to Florida busted elbow or not. My wife is not so sure. We leave tomorrow so I will hope for the best. The above rather large photo is from yesterday and it is not showing much improvement. So, we'll see what happens here. Wish me well as we venture out to the east coast! I'll give an update when we get there, if we do. I'm confident we will!

As for my steem experience. I'm not a writer but a thinker who yearns to be a writer. I will post a lot about what I know which covers 56 years of experiences. Both good and bad. I am investing in several different Cryptocurrencies and enjoying the change from Wall Street. Which I have done some time with. Not a fan. I hope you all find it interesting. Take care.

Thanks for reading my post! No it's not about the cash really as I don't need anymore of that, but it's interesting to think you could actually get value from a post tha I write. That's the real motivation!

Well thank you! It's actually feeling a lot better today. But when you travel it's a good idea to get this sort of thing taken care of right away. Have a great day!
