All this is of course interesting, but as you relate to the flood of the 16th century, a fallen meteorite landed in the Argentine region, New Land archipelago.
The impact was tangent and the meteorite flew back into space! But that did not change the orbit by 15 degrees, and the wave went the way that brought down South Africa, Australia, Mexico, the Sahara, Syria with other Arab countries, Mongolia, Greenland, stopping in Antarctica, partially flooding the Baltic!
