RE: Self-Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson

in #lifelast month

Unfortunately, what is true in the hearts of free men is not true in the hearts of their domesticated peers. They unfailingly reject truth that they might enjoy suffering masters. Because of this I reject that such sheeple are my peers, but only my fellow free men that assert facts, the superable truths that demonstrate our will establishes our personal, sole authority to rule us, and none may receive such authority even should we, like the domesticated do, delegate it to what they must desperately consider their betters. My authority and responsibility for my will cannot be sold, gifted, nor even stolen from me, and I cannot be other than sovereign.

Pity the poor domesticated sheeple, that can neither be property, nor properly be free. Yearning ever to be directed by masters, they must yet undertake their submission to orders by willing their acts to conform to insuperable claims of authority. They can only live lies.

Thanks!
