i keep going back and forth between "they want to kill all human beings" to "they want to force our growing out of infancy". i really am no closer to deciding one way or another. but the latter does enable me to go on with a more capable and less hopeless attitude.
I am wrapping my head around both being true, and as many more schemes as there are overlords - who all seek to eventually betray their competition and become THE overlord. The problem I have with psychopaths is that they aren't competent to civil society, and see no reason that as the Space age progresses good company will become the most valuable possession that can exist. I am convinced that the best scenario possible will include a diaspora of humanity across space in the next century, and the farther we go to develop the illimitable resources, just laying there for free, into inconceivable wealth, the less available civil society will be. The democidal polycrisis will be the most lamented catastrophe our posterity will suffer, because the irreplacable wealth of human society will become ever more scarce the more wealthy and free - and spread out - humanity becomes.
The narcissistic madmen that have attained to Earthly wealth because they have been willing to commit worse atrocities than their competition to gain power aren't capable of sanity and healthy socialization. They cannot into civil society. That is why they're so bloodthirsty, because people are just things to them they can poke and prod to get what they want. That's not what we actually are, and despite their IQ, they are actually broken, incompetent to do what they're trying to do, which is reset society into something better than what it has been. They are the reason we make war and not love.
We can't leave these matters up to them, but must use our bonds of love and affection for one another to create more powerful and healthy civil society that outcompetes them, and defeats their Machiavellian evil plans to become even more wealthy and powerful at the expense of worse atrocities than have ever been inflicted, or suffered, in history. We are better than them, and we will succeed at every wonderful development we set out to achieve. It is my earnest hope and desire to minimize the death and suffering that will have to be surmounted in that process. I am absolutely sure that our posterity will lament their loneliness the incipient democide will leave them in, despite their material wealth.
