Sad but true, you have to pay to die.

We live in a fucked up world.

So the other day I went to visit my grandma and grandpa, because I hadn't seen them for quite some time now.

They have always supported me through my life despite their situation so I try to spend some time to see them now and then, that's the least I can do to make them happy.

We live in Bulgaria and both of them are living on pension. Which is worth roughly 75SBD converted. That's per person.

So the last time I went to visit them they were both really sad which wasn't typical for them, as they are happy people all the time.

I asked why they were sad and they told me that sooner or later the time would come that they would eventually die.

Now that by itself made me feel like crap but that wasn't the point.

They asked me sadly if I could take care of their Funeral and told me that they didn't want to burden my life, so they were collecting money from their pension to pay for the Funeral.

If the first remark wasn't enough this made me feel even more depressed of our current social condition.

It's like we are machines that make money for others and once our expiration date runs out we have to pay to be recycled.

So you tell me.. What have we turned life into? Is it worth living knowing that you owe to live. Like having a life on rent.

I just wanted to spread the word so people know how fucked up life is for some people, so appreciate everything you have.

Cheers and much love for all.

Your article really touched me because what you wrote is so true. Humanity has turned into a money making society, with less regard for the ones who need our help. I met so many wonderful patients when I worked in a hospital for over 35 years, who rarely got visits from family members, because they were too busy working to make money. These patients were sad and frequently wanted to just pass in peace. Society's focus is becoming so materialistic and less caring. You asked once why I didn't write.....I gave it more thought and came up with the conclusion that I was getting overwhelmed by so many Steemits I was following, who mainly put out so many posts without content. It felt like a money focused only effort. I began to think, why am I writing comments that I put a lot of effect into, when most people don't care. It was a hard reality.....I will have to refocus and perhaps change my initial journey to find inner peace to another less ambitious path. I enjoyed your raw and poignant point of view and congratulate you for writing it. It is nice to see there are some real people out there. Peace and happiness Goldie.......Cabbagepatch

that sucks man, My grandma is doing the same..

Pretty sad, but very true.

Yup, if you look at the bigger picture, that's what banks and the government are doing. Sucking our blood and sweat until our expiration date.

Bankers are all too happy to give to unsuspecting people a loan that will take forever to repay. The government just tax the crap out of you.

Seems like nothing is for free and everybody wants a piece of you.

That's why we have Steemit. Share the love!

No... Sorry I felt absolutely compelled to respond to this and you cannot go on life with this kind of view.... We are not machines we are creators.. The mind is so powerful that anything that you believe will in fact become reality.. I live to be positive and and an optimist on life. Yes, fucked up things happen in our lives but you always must be grateful for having life. Practice gratitude and you'll find that life is actually quite magical. PM me if you are still unconvinced or need someone to talk to :) -@itachi

I know what you mean friend from a personal point of view I know how the power of gratitude and positive thinking changes the world your world.. But it saddens me because I know but there are a lot of people that are miserable and depressed because we've made it this way.. We as a society and its time to change our ways and evolve beyond negativity.
Cheers and thanks for the feedback it means a lot.

I like your point of view - I'll just follow you for that uplifting comment!
It is True, it sucks that we are cattle in the machinery of rich people and governments and even have to save our last pennies so our children wont have to go in debt to pay for our death. But can you change that? Maybe by making enough money yourself so you wont have to worry about that yourself. But this wont change it for anybody else. What is really a gamechanger is the shift of the perspective away from the victim-mindset. That can be spread and change other people's situation as well. Make the most out of your life and help people do the same. That is the ultimate Pursuit in life, imho.

Yeah I understand what you are saying. I have spent my whole life trying to avoid participating in the whole money thing because it is not fair or real. That said, cremation is still reasonably affordable or you can donate your body to be studied and experimented on for a totally free way to be recycled.

That is understandable, you donate your body for experiments and people make money out of that, so at least when you die they can make one last income from your hardship.
I don't think that's the greatest of ideas.. I'd rather pay for the funeral than doing that.
The point isn't the money it's the whole condition that is disgusting.
We don't have any respect for ourselves as humans.
Thanks for the feedback though, it's much appreciated..

This is the main focus on my YouTube channel which I'm now using as a vehicle to post on Steemit. How did humans become wallets? And nothing more....
I've first explored how via metaphysical cosmologies which I consider rational and logical possibilities...I am now going to post secular possibilities; the first premise is that science turned into scientism which reduced everything to objects of exploitation, which then got transferred into the field of economics....
This is the most 'benign' explanation for what's happened but I personally believe something more problematic is accounting for what's happened....
I will also be going into a series of posts that explore solutions....
My 87-year-old dad just had a nasty fall..So hopefully your grandparents stay healthy...
We need to find a better way to live and one that doesn't rely on casino ethics...

Okay now that I have stopped crying, I can type. First off, you are a thoughtful darling grandson and I am touched by your heart felt honest article. I think life is beautiful but the world and the people who think they own it and the rules that they create are totally fucked up and dysfunctional. Unfortunately I have no solutions accept to try and love better heal ourselves and become a wiser more compassionate soul with our loved ones family and friends. XOXO
