Is it natural for men to have short hair?
This man above is known by millions for his notorious hair and how it powered him to overcome his enemies. In this image, we see Sampson of the Bible taking on an army of israelites with nothing but a jaw bone of a donkey. Damn. I'll say it again, damn son.
Judges 15:16
Then Samson said, "With a donkey's jawbone I have made donkeys of them. With a donkey's jawbone I have killed a thousand men."
For those who do not know, Sampson was granted power through his hair from God. His wife betrayed him in the night and cut his hair. He was captured and chained to columns of the high council's building. Praying to God, he regained his power and brought the building down on the councilors and himself. Of course being in the bible, some versions are slightly different. That's the main gist though, if he had long hair he was running around killing armies alone; he is pretty cool.
“Our hair fashions might be just a trend, but if we investigate, we may find that we have been depriving ourselves of one of the most valuable sources of energy for human vitality.” -Yogi Bhajan
Its a fascinating topic that was brought into my life due to my choices with my hair. I chose to grow my hair out in 2016. I grew it to the length where I could just put it all up into a teeny tiny bun, like a small little sprout. I shaved it to try to cleanse my soul and body from some negativity in life. I have once again grown it out and very well may never cut it again, who knows!
The biggest question here is why do men cut their hair, and how exactly did this start?
Many men in today's modern age keep their hair short because that's what is expected of men. Hm. Okay then. I am curious about the statistics that show how many men have grown their hair long, how many have considered, and how many absolutely refuse it. It says a lot about a person and much else.
If you look in the celebrity spotlight, many, I mean many people have tried short and long hair. This may not be due to the same reasons as me, but we can see a pattern within this particular community. Why is that? Comment with any thoughts if so! Of course, nobody quite knows.
Who started cutting hair?
Cutting hair dates all the way back to Egyptian times. Many put into slavery were forced to have their heads shaved. Higher rulers would often imitate the look of long hair with headdresses; we have seen similarities with our history in America, similar to our founders.
The specific reason cannot be determined most likely, however there are beliefs in systems. These beliefs date back to ancient yogis along with even Genghis Khan. Khan would use hair to show submission, knowing that the forehead was the specific place to truly draw in prana (light energy) Khan would cut womens' hair short and leave their bangs.
I have read many articles on the beliefs of natives and their thoughts on hair. Many swear by it, and its importance. During Vietnam, local natives were recruited for scavenging and exploration because they were familiar with the area. Going through training, they were placed in a room of a barrack at night. A soldier would be commanded to sneak up on them, but before they were in ear range the native would wake up and attend to the intruder. After training, and of course the classic military haircut the same test was done. They could not replicate the results; asking the natives why, they found responses that suggested they specifically lost power due to their loss of hair.
Could This Make Sense?
I look at plenty of things in a scientific view, as I am an engineer and computer scientist. Looking at these opinions, there are many questions, but they explain surprisingly deeply about the way these powers come to be. A yogi stated that having your hair constantly drain energy from your pool in order to grow is one problem with cutting hair. If you look at the way hair and nerve endings work, you'll find that each hair is attached to the head and sends input frequencies to the nerve ending. If you think of a spider web vibrating from one side do to contact, the spider responds because it can also feel that inputted force.
I believe our hair can act the same way, as this Yogi had explained in a way. Our brain is a type of transceiver that not only sends out different waves, but can receive as well. Think of all the small sub-atomic waves that make contact with our hairs. Having short hair, not much can be gathered, like a smaller satellite dome. Expanding this can allow for more efficient reception. This is science.
Women are more likely to be spiritually connected. Why is this? Most women have long hair, that's a common pattern. Some will question why monks shave their heads, there are many belief systems and you can thoroughly find knowledge about them on the internet, as that is highly advised!
This is simply a little food for thought. I have my hypotheses and others will have their own belief. But the real question:
Should you let your hair grow?
Only one person gets to decide that, the rest is out of control.
