They've always loved me and tried to the best they could, even if we had many arguments.
I always knew I was different and didn't want that 9 to 5 job.
My parents though wanted me to go the "standard" way. Go to university find a job and save for retirement.
That was never the life I wanted. I already knew when I was 8 that I didn't want to work a normal job.
I knew that there was more in life and that everyone can get what they want.
I had my first business ideas when I was 8 but I only got to hear "If that was a good idea, someone else would've done that already!".
I was sorrounded by people with that mentality which is why I needed to get away and live my own life. So, when I was 19 I decided to travel far abroad to get my head straight and don't have these negative influences around me.I didn't really was in contact with my parents for 1 year which was a very important time in my life since it helped me to find out what I wanted.
Now my relationship with my parents is better than ever before since they started to understand my point of view.
I suggest everyone to eliminate negative influences from your life if you want to achieve your goals. Don't live with your parents if they don't believe in you. Get time for yourself and work for your goals and show your family that you're serious about it.
Also, love your family but know what makes you happy and your family will support you.
Have a nice weekend guys!
@veganmoney - I love a similar life.... Infact I quit my job ... To travel around the world....in my case my parents r very supportive even now.... They relate their goals with my plans n help me...
That's great. My family became more supportive after doing my thing for a while. However they still have their 9 to 5 mindset which is fine as long as they don't try to push me in that direction.
Exactly.. as parents they will have their own notion driving them.... But it is always for our good.... It's a selfless thought process... So see their children happy....isn't it??
Exactly, but sometimes they think they know better than we do what makes us happy.
That is when problem arises.... That is something you should make them understand.... I'm sure they will think on your direction if your feelings is properly conveyed... Correct me if I'm wrong
That's right. As i said they're more supportive now than they were before.
That's good... Happy for you... I've written a article on how I quit my job....n what all I have gone thru... Wud b great if u go thru and share ur feedback... Since we sail the same boat...

I 100% agree with you! "Don't live with your parents if they don't believe in you." We have to learn to believe in ourselves @veganmoney
