The Barbershop
I've been getting my haircut at barbershop as long as I can remember. It would be an all-day event, where my dad would wake me up at around 7:30 a.m on a Saturday morning, and we wouldn't get back home until 4 or 5 p.m that afternoon. This was because it seems like the whole community gathered there, and the lines were always out the door!
I know what your thinking! How can the Barbershop be such a great place, if you have to wake up early, the lines are long, and your Saturday is basically gone after? Well to simply put it, the barbershop is a mix of a comedy club, social activist site, and TMZ! I have to say that the person I am today, can be attributed to the years i've spent just listening to the community of wise men converse over anything from politics to who belongs in the Top 5 list of rappers of all time.

Now everything said in the barbershop isn't exactly educational or PG for that matter! I've been apart of some reckless conversations in my day, with some upstanding citizens like lawyers, police officers, and doctors. It goes to show that once you walk into the shop, everyone sheds their identity and reverts back to who they truly were all along.
The best part about going to the barbershop is obviously getting that fresh cut! Every time I walk out the shop, I feel like a new man, who is able to accomplish anything. I believe that if you are sending out positive vibes into the universe, you will eventually receive every blessing that you pray for. By feeling good about my appearance, I am able to focus more of my attention and energy into maintaining that positive mindset!

I love that experience of yours. I think I was just brought to SuperCuts, lol. #robbed
So it'd be like a 2-year-old playing one of those games they leave out, some people sitting around, and you read sports illustrated then they call you up. :/
I always like going to a legit barber now, but haven't experienced a community sort of thing like that.
Your cut looks sick.
Hey at least your experience didn't last all day, so thats a plus haha
And yeah I hear SuperCuts is not the move at all haha You should try going to a "Black Barber Shop" at least once before you die and tell me your experience haha
And thanks Full! Hopefully the ladies think so too, where ever I go this weekend ;)
Alright I'll add it to my bucket list haha. I hear black barbers are usually really detailed and focused and good.
They're gonna smell the steem power and that's all they need anyways .. they're gonna smell dolphin
Man they will probably give you the works once they smell all of that sea food lmao
I'm talking about razor line-up with the design added on top haha
Ya for sure! Oh and I meant all the ladies will smell dolphin on YOU when you go out this weekend, ha. (They can smell the future.) I typed that poorly lol
Now I want the razor lineup and design lol. I've always thought... One day I should go to a barber with a full head of hair and tell him to do whatever he thinks is good, and see what happens
I kinda miss going to the shop. I don't go anymore since I have locs and I line myself up. It's definitely a feeling of communtity there that you don't get from many other places. The barbershop is a pillar of the experience of growing up black.
Man I wouldn't miss the barbershop if I could save all that money by lining myself up! That extra $40 a month would be enough experience for me haha
Man thats the reason I stopped doing it lol. When I used to have a short cut, it was a haircut one week and a fresh lining the next week. Haircut was costing more than my cell phone bill lol
