HISTORY

It had historical importance, because the Liberator of America Simon Bolivar during his admirable campaign went through the Páramo de Mucuchíes, where a peasant gave him a dog of that breed and called it Nevado(Snowy). He have taken him and took him on his long trips. In the battles he was always next to Bolivar, it is said that once in a battle they would attack him from behind and the dog attacked the enemy who was mortally wounded. His dog was killed by a bullet at the Battle of Carabobo on 06/24/1821
