Hello Hive!
After a whirlwind of time I’d like to reintroduce myself. In case you’ve forgotten, I am Wolfcat, your half canine, half cat comrade. I’ve rolled out of my catnip haze and would love to share some stories with you!
Do I start with an older tale or one that is sparkly fresh in my minds eye…hmmm.
Well, who doesn’t like sparkly fresh? Here is a glimpse into the last month, a road trip through Mexico!
It has alway been difficult for me to pass on a good adventure so when my friend Jeff asked me to help drive his truck back from the southern tip of Mexico I put on my sunhat and said let’s go!
I met Jeff in Cozumel where he was getting his Advance Open Water Diver certificate. I had received my Open Water Diver certificate about 10 years earlier on a trip to the Red Sea. Needless to say, I was long overdue to get my fins wet. In total, we were a group of 8 diving the Palancar Reef, a protected area in the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, which by the way is the second largest reef in the word!!
It was absolutely gorgeous and I felt so fortunate to have the opportunity to get deep in the ocean (80ft), swimming amongst eagle rays, a hammerhead shark, and my old friend the sea turtle. <3
A good time was had by all, and the week of play went all too quickly as friends hopped aboard planes back home. Jeff and I let out big exhales and exchanged bittersweet glances as the next part of the journey began, the 4,000 mile drive back to the United States.
This Toyota T100 would be our home over the next 15 days, outfitted with camping gear, a bed in the back, and roadside essentials. The sweet critter in the foreground is a Coati, and this little guy was way friendly, he even rolled on his back for belly scratches!
The days that followed were filled with hot springs, waterfalls, mountains, canyons, and street dogs, all this is much to much for this post!
Check in soon for more!
Until next time,
Wolfcat
