I wrote an article thinking about some of this, and I've got one cooking, too. My take is a bit further afield, only looking upwards, that it's not just that we're a program or our DNA is a hard drive per se, but rather that it's turtles the whole way up. We're as real as can be, as a daydream by something omnipotent, which itself is being dreamt up and so on. But maybe I'm a little Hindu.
