People who say that you need hardship to truly appreciate the good things in life have not successfully passed on their message to Floridians, or at least those who go to Florida have decided to put the concept to the test for themselves. Kudos to you - I was only there for 5 days but it was hard to argue that lots of sunshine and relaxation could somehow be bad for body, mind or soul.
Many of these pictures are from my friend's balcony, boat or wave runner. What a life! We also ate tremendously: rib eye steak and 48 freshly shucked oysters shared between 3 people (to be more accurate, me and two others because I ate almost 30 of those bi-valves) on the first night, over 4.5 pounds of Alaskan King crab legs and claws between the 3 of us second night, third night paella, king prawns and crab cakes, and then 4 racks of home smoked ribs on the last night. What a delight!
A now a poem:
Are we really so different you and I?
What does it mean to be different
A label so as to be current?
Entitlement to be beligerent?
The basis to be indifferent?
Perhaps beyond the apparent
And not altogether abhorrent
Is that differences make us coherent
Similarities create our irreverence
Whether a son or a daughter or parent
You and I, are we really so different?
