A terra nullius* with an area of 1,610,000 square kilometers, extending from the south pole to the Antarctic coast sheridine.
*Terra Nullius: A piece of land that is not under the sovereignty of a state.
It was discovered by admiral Richard E. Byrd in 1928-1941 and his name was taken from Marie, the wife of Admiral.
It is not wanted by any country because of its distance and its inability to live. The only thing that drives its existence is a US base.
In 1939, US President Franklin D. Roosevelt instructed members of the US Antarctic Service Expedition to take steps to explore some parts of Antarctica as United States territories.
However, these campaigns made before 1959 have not been formalized in the Antarctic Treaty system.
It is a piece of land that does not belong to any country on earth....
