How To Get The Things You Want In Life

We all have dreams of many things in life, but if those many dreams are not focused upon and prioritise. You will find it very difficult to achieve even the smallest one.

So to turn your dreams into reality and get what you want in life; you must first learn the skill of focusing.

You can start by doing the following:

Choose something that you long for in your life. It could be a new job, a new partner, or just more money in your bank account. This must be realistic however, in the sense that you must have some means of achieving this.

So for example; if you want a new job promotion, then it would make sense for you to be working in a company that gives promotions.

Now write this dream down somewhere on a list in detail, stating some of the following:

• When you want this new thing
• What you are going to do, to get this new thing
• The exact detail of the thing e.g. colour, amount, location and so on.

Now if you focus on this list everyday, and I mean focus, not watching TV or talking on the phone while you do it. You are bound to see some sort of effect drawing you closer to that thing you want.

Many people fail at this for the following reason; they give up too early.

They have the need of something, write it down, but give up, because it did not materialise on the exact date that they wanted it. What they have not realised is that probably they were not focusing enough on the thing they wanted, or that opportunities showed themselves but they were not taken.

I will use the following example to show what I mean:

Let’s say a person wants to lose some weight, they know how much weight they want to lose and by when. They have no idea how to do this, but they continue to think about it everyday.

While at work one day, this person overhears a fellow worker talking about a new gym that has just opened, and is offering a free personal trainer to help its members lose weight.

However, our weight lost candidate, decides to put it off for another day, because he needed to get to the stores after work to look at a new mobile phone. What he did not know was that, that day was the last day for the gym offer.

Now when this person attends the gym to become a member, there is now a fee for a personal trainer. The person decides that it is now too expensive to join the gym and gives up on their weight lost dreams.

It is clear to see that this person did all the focusing, but it not take the opportunity to achieve the dream, when the chance came about.

Try it yourself. Think about something you want over and over again. Picture it happening day in and day out.

Conduct activities that you believe will help this dream to come into your reality, minimising those that have nothing to do with your dream. There is only a certain amount of time in a day, so your focus should be on that thing and not elsewhere.

But remember, when opportunities show themselves, which they will. You must be ready to take action.

If you have problems focusing, try some of the following tips:

Location
Find a quiet place to yourself for at lease 10 minutes a day, to focus your efforts.

Eating
1. Try having wholegrain cereal for breakfast, this will help you to stay more focus throughout the morning.
2. Try eating two or more servings of vegetables a day, leafy green such as spinach are best.

Supplements
1. Iron Tablets - These will help you to concentrate and improve your memory. You can find iron in foods such as dark leafy greens and beans.

2. Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid) Tablets – These will help you to be more focused, and help reduce chances of memory loss and concentration. You can find vitamin B9 in foods such as whole grains, nuts and fruits.
