We thought for sure a tornado would come down out of the clouds. There was some rotation at one point, as you can see below, but it never formed to touch down. It was only later that we heard a tornado had hit on the east side of town, about 2 miles away. My wife is so stubborn that she refused to go inside until the blowing dust was so thick that you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you.
For about the last month or so, we have been in "monsoon" season. The rains come in the late afternoon/early evening, which has not been good for my marathon training. However, the temperatures have been great! While the rest of Texas staggers in the throes of a heat wave, we have been enjoying high 80s and low 90s in the mountains.
