Starting this journey is serious business.

The first blog. It all starts here, maybe the biggest step taken by any person when thinking about starting a blog. So you start searching on your favorite website “Google” on how to write your first blog and instead getting enlightened and having the courage to write and POST it you get overwhelmed by tons of answers by tons of bloggers lurking on the internet. Instead of being relieved you get more scared just the way you feel during exams by seeing the quantity of notes you haven't touched till the day before (honestly the night before) your exams. But as I had decided (after procrastinating for months) to do this i just opened all the “USEFUL”(maybe) tabs in hoping to get the PERFECT answer which I wanted (maybe deserved) and finally start my journey here, and also Reddit (reddit will always have a soft spot in my heart <3)

So I get mixed feelings about what should I trust? Which advice should i be following? At the time of writing this I still haven't followed any particular person's advice and just getting and implementing small information from here and there. Something I found to be common everywhere was to not start writing directly into wordpress but start writing in a word file. So as usual I open Microsoft word in hopes of JUST STARTING and writing at least one line and to my surprise I find i don't have it activated which set me back like 15 minutes and honestly time isn't the factor here it was the confidence which was set back and as a procrastinator I am sometimes (I’m lying, most of the times) i just kept everything aside to again go inside my blanket and just think nothing till the next wave of my confidence came. Though I had reddit by my side telling me tales about the Wednesday frog (comment if you get the reference).

After 15 minutes i finally decided to start again and this time as I mentioned everyone’s favorite “Google” came in my rescue giving me free access to google docs (learn something about generosity Microsoft) so i finally started writing all the topics I could write about range from poetic stuff like travel, rain to some too much abstract stuff which I am not mentioning for now. So i just settled on writing about the experience I had to go through while doing this. On some other day I might start having more questions like, maybe this topic is too boring (yes), maybe I should think more about it before posting, why do we exist, just to suffer?, what's the meaning of life. But as of now there's just one thing going on which is JUST DO IT FFS (copied from Nike excluding FFS). So to wrap things up maybe this blog won't be useful or interesting to read for everyone? Maybe it might be helpful for someone in the future? But at least for now it made me start writing. I might write about maybe anything in the future, gaming, politics, reviews, copy buzzfeed (always works), maybe 6 word stories (which I’m still procrastinating for since a long time), maybe haikus in the end if nothing comes to my mind. I know this blog is missing many elements which I was kind of aiming for, it doesn't focus on any particular point and neither the humor aspect is there, but after this I'm surely going back into being Thinker (villainous alter-ego) and collecting ideas for my next blog (or if you’re feeling generous maybe give me some ideas in the comments), and in case you're disappointed here’s a cute Doggo.

Hello back atcha

Welcome to Steemit zeldapool and I'm sure you'll have a great time here!! :)

Welcome to steemit, @zeldapool!

Ok, you just got me with that last picture. :)

Feeling a little confused? Well, we all have been at first. And by the way, i love haikus. :)

My profile is @flashfiction and i would like to present you some links i found really useful when i first signed up here. They will make you start with the right foot on Steemit!

This links will all open on the SAME TAB (Yeah, i know...), so i recommend opening them with "righ click->open in a new tab".

LinkCheckDescription
Growing FastTopYou HAVE to register here, if you want to build an audience FAST. It's a free service for boosting exposure, upvotes and followers. You just have to click on "login". Have your key at hand (That awfully long number you got when you signed up on Steemit). The tutorials are easy to follow.
All about steem coinsTopThere are three coins of use on Steemit, and understanding them is critical for your success. This is a short explaining video, the very best i've found.
MarkdownTopEven if you can use some basic HTML on your posts, the correct way to format them is NOT HTML. You use a marking ruleset called, yeah, "Markdown". Have this as a complete reference.
PostingMediumThe top activities on this site are posting and commenting. This is an excellent tutorial about making your posts look great. Don't miss it!
Better interfaceMediumLet's face it: The interface on Steemit is pretty basic. "Busy" is an alternate interface you can use, more polished and easy to navigate. Both of them can be used simultaneously. Again, you just have to login.
Using BotsMediumThere are a lot of things to learn about this platform, and understanding bots is one of the most important. They are little different services you can access for a fee. I found this tutorial extremely useful.
Trevor JamesMediumI know, i know... there are lots and lots of GREAT steemers here for picking one to recommend, but i just love Trevor's style. He explains EVERYTHING you need to know about Steemit (and crypto) in a funny, accesible way. Check him out.
@flashfictionCoolWell, duh. My profile! ;) I write short fiction and tutorials on creative writing. I would be honored if you'd follow me.

Anything i cand help you with, i'm at your service!

See you around!
