RE: A Huge Decision in Life Has To Be Made

in #life7 years ago

In the end it really boils down to what kind of person you feel to be. If you think you've got the energy to manage everything in your life and succeed, then by all means go for it. I, for one, don't think I could ever do it. I usually concentrate on one thing at a time, and as a sport practitioner myself (HEMA in my case) I see that it requires a lot of time and energy to do everything. But I'm the kind of guy who actually needs free time not to feel trapped. And for that, I'm not extremely successful in life. You may be one of those guys who like to have their hands full all the time - in which case, again, don't stop following your dreams.

I definitely DO NOT have the energy to succeed in everything i want to do. I am the exact opposite actually. I need to sleep a lot in order to maintain the quality of my outputs. I have the feeling that we have a very similar perspective about life. If i didn’t have free time I would feel trapped too...Thanks for your opinion man:) BTW HEMA is some kind of medieval swordsman fighting? I just briefly checked it...

Well then take your time :D I guess it also depends a lot on what you're studying, if you like it or not.

About HEMA: basically, yeah. Not just swords, you might learn spear, knife, hand to hand, anything really...following the masters directly at the source, that is manuscripts. There are many disciplines that approach this matter differently, HEMA tends to be like a sport, you study techniques, wear modern protections (so nope, no medieval armor :P), compete on tournaments (if you want to)...it's something I might write a post about later on, although I'm still quite new at this.
