About 3000 shops/businesses/restaurant per state in Malaysia facing the risk of business closure.
If the situation goes on like this (4k new Covid positive cases DAILY), more businesses will need to cease and employees become unemployed.
Approximately 3000 businesses per state in Malaysia will cease operation if the government still do not do anything to assist or lessen their burden.
This issue is made transparent by a representative of one of the restaurants owners. Just because people are not allowed to dine inside the premises, they have lost a lot of income by 90%!
"When dine in is not allowed, our sales has dropped almost 90 percent. We have to give paid-leave to many employees because only 30% of them can come to work. Only 3 of 15 are allowed to come to work. Four if me included."
" If we are NOT being assisted financially, employers will 'drown'. We need to pay for eletricity and water, also for our insurances and bank loans!"
" We can be considered as half closed. In two more weeks like THIS, we have to close business!", said Hassan.
Another business owner also could not resist from sharing, Zarin.
"Many have closed business. Wrapped up their businesses. The existing ones are surviving in losses."
" They are holding on to those outstanding bills, owing rental fees... Postponing employees' salary..."
" We cannot hold too long without government's assistance."
Another business owner, Farah voiced out as well.
"I feel sad because I cannot help people by providing more job opportunities to them. For now, I can only afford to pay 3 employees. I felt worse as I had just paid the rental fees with my electric bills and employees salary now owing and pending."
Accounting:-
Sales per month +RM5000
Rental: -RM1000
Salaries -RM920 x3
Bills -RM300
(Where's profit?)
In my opinion:-
- There's no bad or good. Humans are creative. People will find a way to survive.
- People are already selling and making business online by having promotion, advertisements and Live Sales.
- Gadgets and internet subscriptions are more in demand now more than ever.
- Hotels and tourism had the biggest hit and "got slapped on their faces before dying".
- Many more people care and improved their own homes during the lockdown. Cleaning and decluttering homes are ignored during busy times, right?
- Many people helped poor people but the question is, how many poor people are visible to us to ask for help? They do not have proper smartphone or internet to contact anyone.
