... And how I am sick of all this stuff here!
Every day there is at least one post in the trending feed, telling everyone about how they made quick money on Steemit or giving tips on how to post to get the most upvotes from the most powerful ones.
I honestly think Steemit deserves better than that.
There was a post by @steve-walschot about the narcissists here, and I cannot agree more with it.
But there is something else that's really disturbing - Why do people treat Steemit as a cheap online casino???
I believe it's a great platform that has a great future of bringing us the quality content that we are looking for and rewarding those who create it... As long as we treat it THIS WAY!
As I see these get-rich-fast posts trending, I am wondering... Do you actually read other posts here? I mean READ - not only headings.
Are you interested in what's going on on Steemit besides your Wallet?
Or are you just posting your content and upvoting stuff that hopefully brings maximum curation rewards?
Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against those who earn a lot of cash here. As in real life, I don't have any socialist ideas that it should spread evenly, I am absolutely fine with someone earning $$$$$ and me earning my $$ :)
But I believe that to make Steemit grow and, of course, to give all of us more opportunities to earn more, we should do our best to make it a decent place. Otherwise I guess we all know what it may become (see reddit/all).
Sending you the good vibes from NYC
NYC huh? We're practically neighbors! I'm in north Jersey about 30 minutes out of the city.
This place definitely gets frustrating more often than I'd like to admit, but I'm sticking with it, struggling through. I used to be on reddit CONSTANTLY, but now I'm barely over there. I'm only subscribed to a handful of subs so that could be part of why I'm not there much, content scrolls through much quicker here... which is as much a curse as a blessing. Regardless, I've got high hopes the circlejerk will come to an end, we just need to be patient. We're barely a month past the first payout so there are still a lot of get rich quick authors coming through.
I agree, I also don't plan to quit that soon - as a tool, Steemit looks really well thought-through, and the whole concept is great. It just needs more time to develop its features (the new feed function is cool!), like those on reddit, when you can select the tags you want to follow and not read the "all" feed all the time...
YES! My number one most requested/suggested feature is the ability to follow a specific tag similar to the way reddit works. The feed function is already in place, it could probably be worked in to that without too much work.
I think it all comes back to 'Be the change you wish to see in the world'. The conduct and content of other people is certainly beyond my control. I can barely control my own :)
yes, and complaining it not my style either :) let's keep working!
I totally agree with this.
3 people have flagged this post! That is just low.And an abuse of flagging!
Thank you for your post, and keep up the good work.Good people will support you (including myself). You are upvoted and followed!
Thank you!!
I think some people just didn't read the post and flagged it because of the headline :)
Quiet agree - i've started to scroll past them now and to find more interesting ones to read - i stopped at yours because I couldnt make out what the 'pink picture ' was and was curious, then i started to read and its was interesting, so thanks ...
hehe thank you!
yes i agree totally been here for a three weeks it has become a little too much !! Its the clone post no?? People recreating old trending posts, could trending style posts become a victim of their success, i think better now to say something else other than whining and over calculating how to profit from this system !! Steem needs to be more organic in its content and the way the community acts in its rewards to others here !! It,ll come i truly think as numbers build !!
Just gotta push past it and keep doing what you're doing. I hope things change soon. The casino stigma is wearing thin.
It's on us to put a stop to spammy bullshit. At the end of the day, we are this sites value, after all. I try to only post/vote on stuff that makes Steemit into the kind of site I'd like to see it become. Thanks for doing the same!
That's true, in the end this is the idea of the whole thing - if stuff gets upvoted, it means that it brings some value to the readers. So when the values shift from squeezing the cash out of it (I'm sure it will!), these posts won't be trending anymore
I agree, I posted a similar post earlier today where you only understand that the focus of Steemit shouldn't be money when you read the Post and not just the Heading. Love to see a felloww steem-girl like you in here with a similar mindset :)
Will follow you)
Yey, another "tutorial" about "how i've became steemillionaire". We were needing one of those.
lol, I hope you actually read the article!
Me too:)
LOL, sorry :DD
i'm tired to see those posts too so i didnt even read anymore.
So let me make a new critic, this time being sincere.
great article!
haha thank you!
Don't be too fast to judge a post by it's headline! ^^
read the whole article not just the article name.
Good words. Completely agree.
