RE: A BYPRODUCT OF OUR CHOSEN LIFESTYLE

in #lifestyle7 years ago

You nailed it. If you grow your own, you know what food went into the animal or how the plant was fertilized and so forth. And for kids to be able to experience food - from the beginning to the end, including the awareness that it is not always easy to grow and raise plants and animals.
When my kids were little, I didn't buy meat because it grossed me out, but my kids wanted to eat some. So, we got chicken. I felt that if you eat meat, you need to be able to kill it yourself, or at least be part of the process.
That is why I love to read your posts. So appreciate what you do in the world. Our kids are our future. And the more who are raised with an awareness of the earth and where our food comes from - among other things - the more I feel hope that we all will be okay and stop the path of destruction. Our health as well as that of the planet.
