My wife and I have moved to Longreach in the central west of Queensland. Due to financial problems (too complex to get into here. Maybe a future post...) I decided to go back to work. I now teach at a state high school. My background is in the theatre so I teach performing arts. An interesting concept in a town where the majority of students haven't seen much live theatre, if any at all.
Our reason for choosing such a remote place is because we wanted to move to a smaller place and be part of a community again. We spent our child rearing years in Maleny, another small community closer to Brisbane. We spent seven years at the Gold Coast in the south east of the state.
Longreach is a fantastic place and it has been good to move here. of course, it's the people that make it that way. I intend to post regular updates about life here in the outback.
I am a regular follower of James Corbett and other, in my opinion, reliable sources of information so I have an enourmous interest in the ways of the world and my place in it. I am also keenly interested in spreading good information in the hope that more people will ask more questions. Also why I'm a teacher.
If you happen to read this or any of my other posts and would like to comment, question or discuss, I'd like that.
