I couldn't agree more! Although when I have my own homestead I probably won't eat the meat myself, I would raise meat animals for my dogs and cats. But, yes, it is a tragedy that children today are almost separated completely from Nature and Her wonderful gifts. Thank you for sharing this! And I hope that you and others (myself included) can continue to help in reconnecting the kids with nature.
