in #lifestyle5 years ago

We live in a world where everything is getting advanced and expensive. We all want to have a lavish life but our limited salaries make us restrained. Our budgets are usually limited (unless we have popular shows running about us like The Kardashians, obviously). On the other hand, our desires are unlimited. Therefore, living in a limited budget with so many desires and wants becomes is one hell of a task in modern times.

Keeping this entire scenario in view we all are left with only two options to fulfill our wishes, one is to rob a bank and the other is to get our monthly salary raised. First is only possible in dreams while the second one is also not that easy as it sounds. Asking for a salary increment is one of the hardest tasks to accomplish in any office. You can very easily get the idea of the intensity of that sweaty conditions you will be in if you are ever heading to your boss’s office to ask him for a salary increment. Always remember one thing, asking for a raise in salary or any increment is not a crime if you are really hardworking or deserving for that. However, there are some conditions when asking for an increment is not appropriate at all and can become wrong too.

Here are some of the conditions and situations where asking for a salary increment from your boss can become a crime.

1- You Are A New Worker
Asking for a pay raise a very few months after you have been accepted to join the office as a worker is never a sensible move. Your first few months in any place as a worker are your moments to learn, grow, and establish your reputation as an honest and hardworking component of that organization. Therefore, you should never commit this mistake of asking for a pay raise and move with patience.

2- You Are Not Giving Your Fullest
It not always the boss or the organization which is at any mistake or the cruel end. Your less salary can also be a result of your own incompetence. How can you expect your boss to be nice and caring for you if your lack of responsibly is famous at the work place? One of the worst things you can do as an employee is to be incompetent and pathetic at your job. Even worse than this is to ask for a pay raise yourself while knowing that your boss is not happy with you. Our suggestions for you are to first show diligence at work and then expect a pay raise.

3- Your Boss Is Not In A Good Mood
A golden rule for you to work in any organization efficiently is to be careful of all that is going on in your organization everyday as well as what mood your boss is in. No matter how nicely you ask for an increment and how deserving of it you are, if your boss had a fight with his wife or anyone at the office ruined his mood you should never ask him for any favor, be it an increment or a leave.

4- You Have Recently Did Something Awful
No matter how good at work you are, if you have done something very wrong recently and are still going to ask your boss for something like an increment, first of all we salute your bravery. After we are done saluting you, we will ask you not to take this frantic step as all this would give you will be a termination letter and nothing else.

5- our Company Is Already Suffering
Being loyal your company is the key to become a reputed worker. You must be aware of your company’s financial conditions. If your company is facing some financial issues, should never ask for an increment because of two reasons. Firstly, it will be a no from your boss. Secondly, it will highly expose your unprofessionalism and will harm your value too.

6- You Are Already Being Salaried Well
If you have everything of a good salary package and are still asking for a raise then it is obviously an ethical and intellectual crime and no sensible person can commit this stupidity.

7- You Are Being Too Rude
While asking for a favor, you should be humble and polite. Never say things like “raise my pay, or I will leave” because this, too, will only get you your termination letter and not a pay raise at all.
