It’s 2018. New Year, new me?
Well, not exactly, but I’m always working on making myself the best possible version of me there is. I figured I have my whole life to do this so there’s no pressure as such.
One of the challenges I set myself for 2018 was to ease off the mindless scanning on social media. Many are guilty of this at some point but in 2017 I really started to identify how detrimental this habit was to my mood, daily output and energy. I would go as far to say it was draining my soul.
I have started to limit my social media usage and I already feel much more productive. The extra time has allowed for me to research much more interesting topics rather than what my Grandmas, neighbours, sisters dog did at the weekend. Who gives a fuck.
One of the things I have been doing instead is visiting change.org and searching for petitions that spark an interest. Whether that’s animal testing, politics, education or sustainability - they do make the headlines and can gain victory so it’s always worth contributing.
