One of the major causes of the downfall of man is beauty.
Kingdoms have been destroyed, marriages and homes broken, reputations of great men and World leaders lost, all because of beauty.
The downfall of man in Genesis 3 was a result of beauty. When the serpent insisted that Eve should eat of the tree God forbade them to eat, Eve saw that the fruit was good, pleasing and desirable and so she ate. This led to their expulsion form the garden of Eden.
The destruction of the World by God in Genesis 6 was also because of Beauty. The sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful and they started marrying them as they wanted. God was not pleased with them and He destroyed the World by flood.
King David, a man after Gods own heart commited a sin of adultery and murder because of beauty. He saw Bathsheba from the roof of the palace bathing and she was very beautiful. This made him not only to put her in the family line, he also masterminded her husband's death.
Beauty has caused alot of havoc in the society. People have been betrayed and killed all because of beauty.
A young man marries a lady because of her beauty and with time, the beauty fades away and the marriage crashes. A married man cannot be faithful to his wife because of one young beautiful lady out there.
A man walking by the road side sees a beautiful lady and his eyes are fixed on her to a point that he loses consciousness of where he is. Most of the road accidents are caused because people have been distracted by beauty.
Trust and friendship have been broken. Best friends go separate ways because of Beauty.
Beauty itself is not bad. The problem is when we allow beauty to overcloud our sense of reasoning. Let us stay focused and be mindful of the things around us.
