1 Thessalonians 5 vs 18
'' In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.''
Numbers 11 vs 1
''Now the people complained about their hardships in the hearing of the Lord, and when he heard them his anger was aroused. Then fire from the Lord burned among them and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.''
When we are not grateful and contented for what we have, we tend to complain, and that isn’t good for anyone. For example, even though the Lord had delivered the Israelites from slavery and given them manna to eat, they were not grateful.
They chose not to focus on what they had, but on what they did not have. They should have focused on the fact that they had food in the desert, and not on eating only one particular meal.
The moment we are grateful and content, all we will spread will be hope and joy. Joshua and caleb focused on what theybhad, and hence spread a message of hope and peace to the Israelite, but the other 10 spies focused on what they did not have, and hence spread fear and sorrow.
That is the power of focus. Let's change what we focus on, and we will change what we spread to others.
