Magnificent Lightning Show !!

Yesterday I decided to drive from Bangkok City to Jomtien City just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big smoke for a weekend the drive is about 2 hours, it turned out to be a very smooth ride along the 4 lane highway on either side with very few tourist in the country at the moment, it was a very pleasant drive, why I chose Jomtien City , well I have a very good friend of my living there right on the beach front that I haven't seen for over a year so it was time for a visit and a catch on a chat over a few beers and Jomtien has a beautiful clean beach I was looking forward to a swim around and getting some soft fine white sand between my toes.

That evening we were sitting on his 20th floor balcony facing the beach listening to the sounds and crashing of the waves on the shoreline having a good old chat while having a cold beer when a lightning show started to happen and what better position could we be in front row views 20 floors up, it was perfect, this lightning show was one of those silent ones with no loud thundering just lots of striking and they were reaching down from high and above hitting the ocean surface, they were very intriguing to watch but my concern was those fishing boats out there, we were waiting for one to get a direct hit from one of them lightning bulbs and a big explosion happening but luckily this didn't happen it would not have been a pretty site to see my friend was later telling me that there has been a couple of incidents where them fishing boats have been hit but luckily no casualties just a sunken fishing boat.

That's pretty darn amazing. How do you capture something like that? What sort of camera settings etc.?

Actually @elmerlin these new high tech smartphones have some amazing technology I used my Samsung Pro 21 for this what this smart has is what they call a burst button and it can take up to 30 photos in a split sec then you just pick the best ones and edit them a bit if needed great for motion photos.

Okay, I am really impressed, I can't that's possible with a phone! Well done!

You know what I like about these new tech smartphones they are lightweight and with a lightweight tripod it beats lugging around 5kg plus of camera equipment and you can basically get pretty good results with smartphones if used the right way.
