Chester Bennington sadly lost his battle with his demons last night after a valiant struggle against substance abuse and depression.
His death sent shock waves through the musical community as the Linkin Park frontman was thought to have conquered his battle with depression which haunted him for much of his adult life.
He leaves behind a loving family - and credited his second wife Talina Ann Bentley with rescuing him from the brink and saying their life together made him strong in way he never thought possible.
Their whirlwind romance began in 2004 after they were introduced by a shared friend, musician, Ryan Shuck, and began dating in December - ten days later they had moved in together.

Talina, who found success as a model after appearing in the College Girls section of Playboy magazine, went on to have three children together, Tyler Lee, 11, and six-year-old twins Lila and Lilly.
Chester married Bentley shortly after divorcing his first wife, Samantha Marie Olit.
In a 2009 interview Chester revealed his second wife should be credited with helping him battle his depression.
“My divorce was one of the worst and best things to ever happen to me in my life. Everything I had worked so hard for was gone after we were through. Everything! I was wiped out and it was tough on my ego to let go of all of that. I went from living in a huge house to a tiny apartment in Santa Monica. I was so drained and bitter during that time.
“But I eventually learned from it and moved on,” he added, “I then fell in love again and I got help facing my demons… When I met Talinda, I knew she was the one pretty instantly. She moved into my place after a week and a half or something like that."

Chester, 41, would often pen loving messages to his wife and wrote Give Me Your Name, after forming band Dead by Sunrise in 2005.
The lyrics include: "Give me a smile / Give me your name girl / Give me a sign to get my way / And get what I came for / Because you don’t come easy,” goes the opening verse, alluding to the struggles that Bennington had after his divorce.
"Given that Bentley helped him face his demons, lyrics like “And then I fall into the ocean (into the ocean) / Inside of your eyes / Taking me deeper / Where all the pain dies” are especially touching and intimate. Listen to the full song above."

In another poem on Instagram, he lovingly wrote: "Her eyes are like the arrows Shot from Cupid's bow Her smile like the canyons I've fallen deep below Her voice is like the sparrow That takes away my soul Her fingers like the silky yarn That keeps my body warm Her words are like a howlin wind Movin through the trees.

"Her hair is like a field of flowers Blowin in the breeze Her hands are like a mothers song That put my heart at ease Her kiss is like a bright white shadow brings me to my knees And if I'd never prayed before A servant she has made I bow down at her temples door And pray that I be saved For I am just a lowly man.
"All I've touched I set a blaze And she is like the endless ocean Washed over me in waves Forgiving all that I've abandoned And mends my aching heart She hangs her flag there high upon That broken marble arch Where once there was a great empire Stretched to the dark Defeated with one single blow My armies cease to march."

And, in the hours after her husband's death sent shock waves across the world, the only post on Talinda's Instragram page is a photo of their wedding anniversary in January.
The caption reads: “HAPPY ANNIVERSARY” with several kissing emojis.
