I have family that still struggle with the idea of someone not owning a whole coin of something and that there are other coins then BTC. So anytime the price surges they somehow think I’m going island shopping or something.
I’ve always just preferred cheap and quick transactions. Normal people also just don’t like the idea of seeing the fees they pay for a transaction (processing) which tends to be another strange mental barrier. They don’t realize the goods they buy in a store with fiat already have transaction fees baked into the price when they go to checkout.
Crypto in a way makes that actual cost more transparent. It’s even kind of fun when you go to a site that offers crypto payments and there is a slight discount accounting for the average rate they would have paid for processing fees. So being able to pay with Litecoin is just amazing.
