The old

In a night of insomnia
of anguish, of loneliness and regret,
the old man in his big house
was spinning and turning in his bed
without getting to rest.

To take advantage of time he started to think for a while and so he climbed step by step each of the steps that make up the inclined and very long staircases of his years.
When the penultimate step was able to achieve,
all sweaty and tired,
bending his weak knees
in it he remained seated.
From that height reached
and his steady thought,
taking paper and pencil
He wrote letters to his children.

If you read this letter some day,
written with a lot of love and affection
try to remember,
Your beautiful years of children.
If you read this letter some day,
written with a lot of love and affection
try to remember,
Your beautiful years of children.

When i made this post,
my feelings are no longer secret
in it I only beg
that someday they come home
to know the grandchildren.
)
And I will be filled with pride
how my grandparents used to be,
when holding me in their arms
being part of them.

This never happened the old man alone and sad, the last step of his ladder reached.
From there he continued writing
without anger and without grudges
to his three beautiful loves.

And in this way he said, Children, my dear children! when I join in deep sleep do not get sad do not cry with the work done I'm leaving quietly of this world.
The old man fell silent,
the pencil of his hands escaped,
bending his neck over the letter he wrote
happily he fell asleep.

Very nice written and.. sad. I loved it :D ! You know, in the end, how can a parent be a parent, if he doesn't teach his/her children how to live without them? I think that's the ultimate duty of a parent, how to fully let himself/herself go, and through this their children to still be able to fly, still as high...
Thank you for this lovely sharing..

@angelica,
Nicely written. The most powerful emotion that poetry can elicit is poignance (not sadness ... they're different). You did it. Well done.
Quill.
Good energy.Sincere thanks @quillfire with humility I receive your compliment, I am glad you liked my poem. This writing, I did it in conjunction with my dad, to be able to appreciate his perception.
It takes deep courage to love so deeply in life when one knows that the deeper one loves the greater the sadness will be when the moment of parting will arise.
Yet life lived without the courage of loving deeply, is a life wasted and thrown away. For the courage to be vulnerable and love with all ones heart the world and those one cares for, is what makes us grow strong and allows us to grow inside, so that this life was not a wasted cocoon, and symbolises the successful breaking out of it as butterfly when death comes for us to say our goodbye.
Very moving poem, darkness will come yet never do fear, remember the days of children, where we were all heros cause we were at our height brave, brave out of innocence.
Thanks for sharing :)
