THE CRY OF A JUST CRIMINAL. ACT 1 SCENE 3

in #literature7 years ago

At the court in the following morning, the court had risen but the registrar was still sitting and smiling at nothing. Kolawole humbly walks in and go straight towards registrar.

Kolawole: Good Morning Sir.

Registrar: Good morning young man how may I help you?

Kolawole: I had an issue with the police and I was reliably informed that the case has been charged to this court, that is why I'm here.

Registrar: Wow! That's serious oh! But what was the nature of this case?

Kolawole: My bike was seized last Friday by a team of patrol officers along Otto-Wharf. They took it to their station and asked that I report here today with my lawyer.

Registrar: What is your name sir?

Kolawole: Kolawole Kazeem!

Registrar: Oh! Oh! Your case had been called by 9am, and now it is 1.04pm, court has risen.

Kolawole: What do you mean sir?

Registrar: You see, you have five counts charges leveled against you by the commissioner of police. Where did I see him? can't even recognize him on the television or newspaper, not to talk of having case with him. My problem is with some Atural police officers who insisted that I must bribed them, but I'm bluntly refused. He then seized my bike and took it to their station.

Registrar: I don't know of that young man. All I knew is that, the case had been adjourned till 14th december 2010 and today is7th december 2010.

Kolawole: Thank God. That means I have seven days to get ready for another hearing. There is no problem! We are going to see who will win.

Registrar: Young man, it's not as you think, you are to be remanded in prison till the next hearing.
