RE: ADSactly Literature: Soulmates throughout literature – the ongoing myth of Adam and Eve

in #literature6 years ago

In 1655, La Peyrère distributed Prae-Adamitae, converted into English as Men Before Adam, in which he contended that when God made Adam and Eve, the world was at that point brimming with people. Adam was not the dad of all mankind but rather just of the Jewish individuals, who had been picked by God to get the heavenly law and, through Jesus, to bring all mankind reclamation. As an understanding of Genesis, this could scarcely have been more provocative; the book was singed and its writer captured for apostasy. After a long cross examination and a meeting with the pope, La Peyrère abjured, changed over to Catholicism and passed whatever is left of his life in retirement.
