The name of Stephen Edwin King will forever resonate in the minds of all horror and science fiction fans. The master creator of the most extraordinary and gloomy works that the world of literature has known, currently launching the "Mr. Mercedes" TV series which seem to be based on the book with the same name and also premiered last month, and also working on Castlerock which is due to 2018, many reviews have said that this new television series will be the competition for American Horror Story.
With a direct and shrewd style, able to highlight everyday aspects of unthoughtful forms, loaded with irreverence and contempt for the traditional, King has managed to position himself as one of the most recognized authors worldwide . His unusual analisis of human thought, the millimeter construction of each of his characters in a unique and unique universe with details of personality that only the most expert psychologists could imagine, and the ease with which he gets his readers hooked validated all the applause of the critic.
His first work, Carrie, knocked down like a hurricane all the strict literary analysts, who, subjected to the charm of King's pen, catapulted him to fame with hardly an official publication in his résumé. The passage to the cinematographic world did not cause him even greater problems , for the most outstanding directors and filmmakers of the world instantly marveled at the King's work, transforming most of his works into films that reveal the darker side of this master's creativity. terror.
It would be - for everyone - much easier to simply recommend Stephen King as author, because choosing only 5 books from such a prolific author is perhaps one of the most complex tasks that any fan should face . Each title in the list implies one that is left out, and if it is books of the master and lord of terror any exclusion could perfectly be considered as a literary sin. Unfortunately I have sinned, I left out of this list the whole saga of The Dark Tower, and books like The Shining , Doctor Dream, Revival ... But I have to say that the 5 titles that make up this list will conquer without any effort the heart of all brave who will be encouraged to face the beautiful adventure of entering the dark world of Stephen King .Looking for a new reading? We strongly recommend these 5 books of the master of terror:
1) Carrie
A teenager you do not want to know, but you will try to understand until the end of the book. The first installment of King, adapted in dozens of languages and taken to the big screen with a deafening success. Carrie is undoubtedly the first infallible that any reader of King who deserves to be should know. (forget about 2013 horrible remake)
2) IT
IT. A simple, minimalist title that even seems vague and too simple. In fact, this resource of King hides an extensive history that removes dangers of the past that become present between nightmares and realities that are confused and intermixed to cause an aurora of terror that, after all, is too attractive to abandon reading.
3) Misery
A worthy account of King, obsessive and detailed to the limit. A man injured after an accident finds refuge in the home of an unknown serial killer who does not intend to give up his instincts to help him. A struggle between terror and life that could only be dealt with by the great Stephen King
.4) Mr. Mercedes
In this opportunity King will shake anyone who dares to face Mr. Mercedes. From the mind of a serial killer obsessed with his most brilliant work, the author makes a journey without return through the corners of the universe of terror
.5) Who loses pays
Starring in the same trio of heroes as Stephen King introduced to us in Mr. Mercedes (Edgar Award 2015 for Best Novel) now comes the sequel: Who Loses Pay , a masterpiece of intrigue on a reader whose obsession with a writer goes too far.

My personal favorite is Stephen King's The Dark Tower series. (I don't intend to see the movie, bleh.)
Have you ever read Peter Straub & Stephen King's "Talisman" and "Black House"? Very good books, also.
Thanks for sharing this mini-bio, and the list. I have never read Mr. Mercedes, I will have to check that out.
My top 5:
