I have been slowly losing followers also, but, you know what kind of followers they were? Not the real ones. They were the ones who assumed I would give a follow just because they followed me.
Now, I will admit to being the type of person who will follow someone for a short time to see if they are the type of person I WANT to follow. If I find out they are not... Then I unfollow them. I do not believe that this is something worth you being sad over because it was probably one of those people who aren't following you for "real".
I do feel a little sad about those who have stopped following me, but then I go look at what they post, most of them are either resteemers only, or they don't post at all... Or, they just post stuff I am not interested in. I am okay with this.

It's okay that you do, but, you don't want people following you who aren't interested in your content.
If you go look through your feed now, you wanna make sure it's all stuff you're interested in reading, or else you'll never be able to keep up with it. We've gotta be genuine with others, but we've really gotta be genuine with ourselves. A follow means nothing if they're not visiting your posts and interacting.
