There are all these lizards around the pool and there have even been times when I have looked out the window and saw one of these lizards drowning in the pool and ran out and saved them. This one I wasn't able to save.
They will get in the pool but they can't get over the pool coping. At first I thought it must be that their feet can't get grip on the tile under the coping but I saw a setup at the Desert museum where they had lizards on display but it wasn't like an enclosed thing. I noticed the walls had a coping on them just like my pool.
That is when I realized that Lizards can climb vertical walls well but they can't do the cliff hanger.

That's a crazy looking lizard. We don't really have much interesting wildlife here in the midwest. When my folks moved down to SC, it was always fun visiting to see lizards and little tiny neon frogs and stuff on the pateo or while out walking the dogs. Flying fish and alligators too those were cool. I'm not a fan of "palmetto bugs" which is essentially a nicer word for a giant cockroach.

That’s pretty Nice of you, to run outside and save their lives. This poor guy had amazing colors! I don’t think I’ve seen a lizard like that before.

That is a stunning animal - I love its colors... It's naturally neon! Nature is the best. I appreciate that you save the Lizards from your pool - Anytime I'm in a pool or hot tub I check for drowning bugs and bees and save them :) Once I actually found a Black Widow Spider in the pool! It was insane!!!
That's in AZ?! I've seen plenty of lizards, even a Gila monster. But I've never seen one of THOSE.
