Key Points:

  • Proposal Overview:
A poll initiated by Claybo seeks community input on whether Conclave Arcana starter packs should remain at $5 for 25 cards or be restructured into smaller, more affordable options like $1 packs (5 cards) or $2 packs (10 cards).

  • Player Benefits:

    • For New Players: A $1 price point provides a low-risk, affordable entry point, breaking down financial and psychological barriers.
    • For Veterans: Daily in-game earnings (e.g., SPS, DEC, vouchers) can be used to buy $1 packs, enabling consistent collection growth without waiting to accumulate larger amounts.
  • Psychological Impact:
$1 packs are more accessible and appealing, fostering better engagement for both new and experienced players.

  • Market Alignment:
Microtransactions thrive on affordability. Splitting starter packs into smaller units aligns with these trends while maintaining the same value ratio.

  • Community Input:
With less than 60M SPS votes cast so far, community members are encouraged to participate in the poll and voice their opinions.

I have the same ideas and will be making a post/video on it as well.

Matt says he wants 500,000 new players. Most of those will be in the bronze league. Even to build a bronze level deck will cost over $250+ at packs being $1.

If we can get say 400,000 new players in bronze spending even $200 to build a bronze deck that is $80 million in revenue for the team without figuring in the players spending more for higher level decks!

Good point, Jovak! The revenue potential is huge, but do you think the $200+ cost for a bronze deck might be a barrier for new players? It feels like there’s a balance to strike between profitability and accessibility. I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on how they could keep things approachable while still driving growth. Looking forward to your post/video on this!
