There is certainly lots to be discovered in East London, from St Pauls Cathedral to the Olympic Stadium, London’s East-end is an intriguing mix of old and new.

Here is a list of ten of the best places to see in East London that are truly not to be missed!

1 Get a Certificate for Climbing the Monument

If you are feeling energetic, why not climb the 311 steps to the top of the Monument which commemorates the Great Fire of London in 1666? After the ascent you will receive a certificate and of course witness the amazing views from the top. You can also watch a live stream of images from the top if you prefer not to go up.

10 Visit the Olympic Park, Stratford

Designed for the 2012 London Olympics, this 650 acre park is a stunning place to visit during the summer time and home to the former Olympic Stadium which is now the venue of the West Ham Union FC matches.
