Ulan-ulan Falls Escapade

In Almeria, Biliran Leyte, there is a very catching falls called Ulan-ulan falls which means rain. At 90 feet high falls surrounded by dense tropical forest. It was called “Ulan-ulan” because the force of the falling waters creates a mist. The mist is so cold and the drifting sound of water is loud. The powerful cascade of waters forms a catch basin with water sufficient enough for swimming.

In going to this falls, don’t forget to bring water and to wear rubber shoes or whatever good quality sandals because the road is steep, narrow and slippery if you travel during rainy days.

I suggest not to travel alone because, on the way up to the falls, there are no houses built. What you will only see is some men working on their farm or gathering some firewoods. You’ll know you're near because you can already hear the sound of the waterfalls. Once you hit the trails dead end, there's a signage pointing to the waterfalls direction and you would have to trek your way down on a small and steep pathway. Better be careful on your way down because the rocks and trees are mossy and tricky. After the short descent, a cold and moist air and a beautiful view of the waterfalls will welcome you and all your sacrifice will not be wasted because the panorama is breathtaking. Lastly, be sure to leave before sunset.

I visited there last year. It's a really cool waterfall. By cool I mean freezing, was shivering after going for a dip. Awesome photos!

Are some tourguides available just in case if you're travelling alone? :)

Yes. You may coordinate with the office of tourism.
