RE: When Life Throws You A Curveball...Get Back Up and Other Strange Philosophical Musings

in #loss2 months ago

For sure, we can only do so much! And it is much more important to help others create good soil, rather than try and spread seeds where one goes. I am sure we can reread the parable of the seeds in this light as well. Good soil is so important.

Sort:

The sad thing is that so many land claims are lying fallow with nothing going on. Good soil is all important, but then if the lands are not worked, then it goes to waste.
Like the parable of the dead tree not bearing fruit, and to be cast away to be burned. If everyone were to work together, this would not be a food scarce country, and little children will not die from malnutrition.

For sure. That is the biggest problem — no one wants to work together, and no one wants to work toward the improvement of others. As you noted, if everyone worked together, there would be no malnutrition and there would be jobs for everyone. There is enough work, but not enough opportunities. Especially in academia; there are double the amount of students but no new appointments.

So many care only for the self, and most everyone is hooked on the idea of money and power. The sad thing is that backstabbing and selfishness are at the order of the day. I think that the GNU is a good effort to show that everyone taking hands can work well together, but then again, we see that many are trapped in the past. Spoilers around every corner, and job creation remains just a dream.
The system is this. Why pay for 3 if one can do all three jobs. Not only in academia, as it's all over. Just look how many qualified doctors are sitting at home.

!BEER for Christmas.

It is really sad to see all of it unfold in front of our eyes, and then also being affected by it! I am obviously biased toward the university as I am trying to find a job there, but the amount of workload per lecturer is just crazy. Our department alone can appoint three or four lecturers alone to help with teaching load. It is sad to see then how they do not fill posts nor do they create new posts even though teaching loads have doubled or even tripled.

A great discussion that we had today. !LOL
Thanks for the visit, and I hope that we will have a few more.

Cheers and !BEER
