I love watching classical Hollywood romantic movies and yes you can blame it on the fact that I feel like I'm stuck in the wrong era most of the time, I mean my preferred love story still has the narrative of the connection of two souls as opposed to an attractive instagram page. This time though my quest for classical romantic movies took me to the world of the "Before trilogy"( Before sunrise, Before sunset and Before midnight) directed by Richard Linklater.

The movies explore the love story of Jesse played by Ethan Hawke and Celine played by Julie Deply. The first installation of the movie saw the couple meet for the first time on a train, the second installment which was released nine years later witnessed the couple thread through the waters of reconnection and the last chapter of the movie explored the characters as a couple with kids.

The movies took a philosophical approach as the two main characters are seen talking about deep and moving subjects, such as life, death, family and love, offering their point of views on such matters. At this point you may begin to ask how possible is it that two characters yapping on about life for three movies straight don't get boring, the answer to your question is in the passion that both Julie and Ethan give to their characters, young Julie and Ethan was so beautiful and they gave the vitality and beauty of youth to their characters so much so that they'd have you entranced.

The movies shows how two souls forge a connection that stand the test of time through soul barring conversations. Ethan Hawke and Julie Deply did such brilliant work in developing their characters over time, watching them transition from young idealists discovering love for the first time to adults juggling the world of marriage and parenthood was like watching magic happen on stage.

It's a movie that has been designed to suck you in from the first scene, filled with dialogue that'll have you deep in thoughts hours after the last credits has rolled. It was a massive success in the box office whooping a sum total of over forty-eight million dollars to a budgeted 8.2 million dollars, a surprise to no one who has actually seen the movie.

If you're looking for a movie that will remind you about the beauty of love and vulnerability, the power of deep moving conversations and how special it's to find that soul you connect with, then this is a movie for you.
