The love above all love
Permit me to start like this. Why is there a love above every other love, I thought love is love, there should be no degree to it, but this even gets better we have the different types of love. Well let’s move on.
• PHILIA : Affectionate love, This deals more with affection, there is no romance in this, and can be found between friends. For me this is the second type of love I knew. We were always taught to love our neighbors and I think this type of love applies to that situation.
• PROGMA: Enduring love, This is a new one, I didn’t know this when I was growing up, I guess it was not necessary then, but this type of love matured over the years, an everlasting love between couples that put equal effort into their relationship.
• STORGE: Familiar love, it’s a natural love occuring love rooted in parents and children as well as best friends. The only difference between this and PHILIA is that STORGE is built upon acceptance and deep emotional connection.
• LUDUS: Playful love, This is more like a flirtation love commonly found in the beginning stages of relationship.
• MANIA: Obsessive love,bit is an obsessive love towards a partner. It leads to unwanted jelousy or possessiveness.
• PHILAUTIA: Self love, this is a healthy form of love where you recognize your self worth and don’t ignore your personal needs.
• AGAPE : Selfless love, Agape is said to be the HIGHEST level of love, offering agape love is a decision to spread love in any circumstances, including destructive situation hmmmmmmm!!!!. In order words there maybe things that would not be palatable to one but out of love, one does it, This is just the type of love Christ showed us by dying on the cross of Calvary. This love requires the kind of sacrifice that most people would run away from. Most times the sacrifice can be said to be ultimate, and by altimate I mean life. Any one that’s gives this can be said to have given the ultimate sacrifice. Definitely this is on a different level from others types of love.
So next time when you use the the phrase I love you, always have the type of love you mean in your mind. Or if the phrase is been said to you, you had want to know the exact type lol.!
